			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Arts and Crafts style homes of the early 1900&#8217;2 used a lot of  wood to finish their interiors.  Gustave Stickley in particular was a huge fan of fumed, quarter sawn oak, and used it everywhere.</p>
<p>However, even in those days builders couldn&#8217;t afford to craft everything from hand.  Many of the wood features of these homes were built from a standardized set of factory milled wood.  The milling may have been done with belt driven machinery, but that was still more efficient than handwork.</p>
<p>This website will be based on the contents of an <a href="http://architecturalmillwork.org">architectural millwork</a> book published especially for architects who were designing homes using these features.</p>
<p>There is lots of interest in this kind of content from people living in or renovating old Craftsman  homes.  As a result we can add Ebay ads (EPN), link to books at Amazon, and possibly sell greeting cards with picturesof these old homes.</p>
