ArchitecturalMillwork.com is a website based on the contents of a 1928 book published to provide architects, contractors, and home owners design suggestions for their dream house. It has color renderings on homes and lots of drawings of suggested interior designs. It shows entry doors, windows, stairs, etc.

Their system was based around a sandardized set of mouldings that could be used to build a variety of designs. The pictures of those designs should help renovators replace/repair damaged woodwork in old Craftsman style homes.

The site is only part way built, but has house plans and the moulding pictures. Still to come are art glass windows and more interior details.

Arts and Crafts style homes of the early 1900'2 used a lot of wood to finish their interiors. Gustave Stickley in particular was a huge fan of fumed, quarter sawn oak, and used it everywhere.

However, even in those days builders couldn't afford to craft everything from hand. Many of the wood features of these homes were built from a standardized set of factory milled wood. The milling may have been done with belt driven machinery, but that was still more efficient than handwork.

This website will be based on the contents of an architectural millwork book published especially for architects who were designing homes using these features.

There is lots of interest in this kind of content from people living in or renovating old Craftsman homes. As a result we can add Ebay ads (EPN), link to books at Amazon, and possibly sell greeting cards with picturesof these old homes.
