Vintage German nutcrackers from the Erzgebirge region of Eastern Germany were produced and sold for hard currency under the "Expertic" label. Many, but not all, of these nutcrackers had a red and while label on the bottom that included the word "Expertic", also DDR, and Erzgebirge.

German-Nutcrackers.com is where we have started to build a website focused on these folk art items. We have some pictures posted and will publish more as we get our collection photographed.
